Israel & Palestine: One State or Two States?

What does this cartoon mean?
Thoroughly read through the Israel/Palestine section of ProCon.org (http://israelipalestinian.procon.org/), especially the sections on "Core Questions" - One state or Two State solution.   Then...write a well crafted 5-7 sentence paragraph where you support either the one-state, or the two-state, solution to peace in the middle east.  Be sure to back up your opinion with SPECIFIC quotes and details from your reading of the website.  There's lots there, so it's easy to find things that maybe no else has.

Your Question: Israel/Palestine Conflict

Read through this article from 2008 at PBS News Hour Extra about the Israel/Palestinian Conflict in the Middle East.   Take notes in your journal and be sure to include questions you may have about parts of the article you do not understand.  Then... in a JOURNAL to BLOG paragraph, use one of the questions you wrote down in your notes and then research and fully answer the question in a full, well-written paragraph.

What Do You Care About?

What do feel very strongly about?  What opinion do you have that others might disagree with?  What really matters to you?  Choose one thing that answers these questions and then explain why you feel that way.  Make sure you list at least three reasons why.  Any attempt to add in some outside facts or information that back up your point will be duly rewarded.  Also, see if you can mention what a person who opposes your view/opinion might say in response to your feelings.

Rainforests - Who Cares?

In a 5-7 sentence, well constructed paragraph, answer the following question related to Latin American resources:  Every year people destroy 33.8 million acres of tropical rain forests, which is about 64 acres every minute.  Do you think U.S. citizens have a responsibility to do something to help protect the rain forest?  Why or why not?
(Be sure to go beyond your textbook by using the internet to further inform yourself of the issue.)
